Lincomycin (As hydrochloride)
LEXIN is indicated for control of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens.
LEXIN is also active against Staph., B-heamolytic, Strep. and Mycoplasma spp.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION: Oral
GENERAL PHARMACOLOGICAL DOSE:
3-6 mg Lincomycin active / kg b.w.
DOSAGE:
Poultry: 0.25 gm / 1liter of drinking water for 7 days.
Or 17 mg Lincomycin/Liter drinking water.
Lincomycin is a macrolide bacteriostatic antibiotic and is highly selective in its action, Active against gram positive organisms. Lincomycin Is readily absorbed when given orally and excreted mainly via the bile. Lincomycin acts by inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis.
